CHAP. 682.—An ACT to incorporate the Northern Neck agricul-
tural association.
Approved March 8, 1892,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia,
That William R. Claughton, J. M. Booth, W. M. Beatley,
G. W. Headley, W. S. Cralle, J. B. Cralle, T. H. Fallin,
F. Eubank, William Blundon, Harding Walker, R. S.
Brent and A. 8. Rice, their associates and successors, be,
and they are hereby, constituted a body politic and corpo-
rate by the name and style of the Northern Neck agricul-
tural association, and as such shall have perpetual suc-
ceasion and a common seal, and may sue and be sued,
plead and be impleaded, contract and be contracted with,
and make all proper and needful by-laws, ordinances and
regulations not inconsistent with the laws of the United
States or of this commonwealth.
2. The object of the association shall be to develop and
promote the agricultural and industrial interests of the
Northern Neck section of Virginia. The office of the said
association shall be at Heathsville, at which place the
stockholders shall hold their annual meeting.
3. The said association shall be entitled to purchase and
hold real estate to the extent of one hundred acres, and
shall have the right and power to sell, mortgage or lease
any part or all of said property.
4. The capital stock of the association shall be divided
into shares of ten dollars each, which shall be paid as
required by the by-laws, and the said capital stock shall
not be less than three thousand nor more than five thou-
sand dollars. No individual can hold more than twenty
shares of said stock. All certificates of stock shall be
signed by the president and countersigned by the secre-
tary of the association.
5. The officers and directors shall be elected and the an-
nual meetings held at such time as may be provided by
the constitution and by-laws of the association.
6. The board of directors, including the president, sec-
retary and treasurer, shall have the management and con-
trol of the property, affairs, business and concerns of the
association.
7. Such constitution as shall be adopted by a two-thirds
vote of the stockholders of the association shall be held
and be deemed to be the constitution of said association,
and shal! not be altered or amended, except as may be
therein provided.
8. This act shall be in force from its passage.
