CHAP. 676.—An ACT to incorporate the Oronoco club, of Dan:
ville, Virginia.
Approved March 8, 1892.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia,
That O. W. Dudley, W. A. Holland, J. P. Taylor, D. J.
Holcombe, John D. Spencer, Dr. H. W. Cole, Eugene
Withers, R. L. Dibrell, W. J. Dance, J. A. Lawson, W. A.
Smith and such other persons as are now associated as the
Oronoco club, or may hereafter be associated with them,
are hereby constituted a body corporate by the name of
the Oronoco club, to be located in the city of Danville,
Virginia, for the purpose of social intercourse, and for the
purpose of maintaining a library and reading-room. .
2. The said corporation shall have the power to make
and adopt a constitution and by-laws, rules and regula-
tions for the admission and expulsion of its members and
their government; the election of its officers and to define
their duties, and for the safe-keeping and protection of
its property and funds, and from time to time to alter or
repeal such constitution, by-laws, rules and regulations:
provided that the same be not inconsistent with the con-
stitution and laws of the United States or the state of
Virginia.
3. The said corporation may hold or lease any real or
personal estate: provided that the real estate held b
them at any one time shall not exceed one acre of land.
4. This act shall be in force from its passage, and be
subject to amendment, alteration or modification, at the
pleasure of the general assembly.
