CHAP. 670.—An ACT for the relief of Susan C. Mays, the widow
of Thomas T. Mays, a Confederate soldier.

Whereas Thomas T. Mays, the husband of Susan C. Mays,
was a brave Confederate soldier of the army of the late
Southern Confederacy; and whereas said Thomas T. Mays
was shot through the body at Fairfield, in the state of Mary-
Jand, by the soldiers under the command of General Mc-
Causland, and which said wound caused his death in the
year eighteen hundred and sixty-seven; and whereas his
widow, the said Susan C. Mays, is now living in poverty;
and whereas, under the existing pension laws, the said
Susan C. Mays is not entitled to a pension; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia,
That the auditor of public accounts be, and he is hereby,
directed to list the claim of the said Susan C. Mays as
being entitled to a pension of thirty dollars per annum.
