CHAP. 667.—An ACT to amend and re-enact an act approved
March 7, 1884, entitled an act authorizing the Sulphur mines
company of Virginia to construct railways for transportation
of ore, et cetera, same not to exceed forty miles in length.
Approved March 3, 1892.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia,
That the said sulphur mines company of Virginia shall
have authority and power to construct railroads, none of
which to exceed forty miles in length, or to be located
elsewhere than in the counties of Louisa, Spotsylvania
and Orange, connecting its mines and works, or any or all
of its Jand with any other railroad or works of internal
Improvement, and to operate and maintain the same, and
to this end and purpose may cause condemnation of all
necessary lands, and shall have all! other rights, privileges
and powers conferred by the laws of the state on such
enterprises, but subject to the conditions and limitations
imposed by said laws of the state; but said company shall
not charge for the transportation of ores belonging to
persons or corporations other than itself, more than two
cents per ton, of twenty-two hundred and forty pounds,
per mile actually hauled; but when more than one hun-
dred tons per day shall be shipped by any one person or
corporation, the charges for all ore in excess of one hun-
dred tons, of twenty-two hundred and forty pounds, shall
not exceed one cent per ton per mile, of twenty-two hun-
dred and forty pounds, actually hauled.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
