CHAP. 466.—An ACT to provide for the election of school trustees
in the county of Frederick.
Approved February 29, 1892.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia,
That in each magisterial district in the county of Fred-
erick there shall be chosen, in the manner not prescribed
for the election of other district officers, by the qualified
voters thereof at the general election to be held in May,
in the year eighteen hundred and ninety-three, and bi-
ennially thereafter, three school trustees, who shall hold
their office for the term of two years, and who shall enter
upon the duties of their office on the first day of July
next succeeding their election. They shall continue to
discharge the duties of their office until their successors
shall have qualified.
2. Provided, that when any vacancy occurs in the office
of district school trustees, the same shall be temporarily
filled by the county superintendent. The county super-
intendent shall also remove any trustee who fails to dis-
charge the duties of his office according to law.
3. The organization of the said board of district school
trustees and the duties of said trustees shal] be the same
as are now prescribed by law. The board shall appoint
for each school-house a proper person, whose duty it shall
be, subject to the supervision of the board, to cause said
school-house to be properly furnished with supplies and
kept in proper order.
4. The terms of office of all school trustees in said
county who have been or who may hereafter be appointed
by the school trustee electoral board of said county shall
expire on the first day of July, eighteen hundred and
ninety-three.
5. This law shall take effect from the first day of May,
in the year eighteen hundred and ninety-three.
