CHAP. 461.—An ACT to rearrange the fifth and fourteenth cir-
cuits and to form a new circuit.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia,
That section three thousand and fifty-seven of the code be
amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows:

§ 3057. Judicial circuits——The state shall be dividec
into eighteen judicial circuits, as follows:
First. The counties of Norfolk, Princess Anne, Nanse.
mond, Isle of Wight, Southampton, and the cities of Nor.
folk and Portsmouth, shall constitute the first circuit.
Second. The counties of Brunswick, Chesterfield, Din.
widdie, Greenesville, Nottoway, Prince George, Sussex
Surry, and the city of Petersburg, shall constitute the sec-
ond circuit.
Third. The counties of Amelia, Buckingham, Charlotte
Cumberland, Lunenburg, Mecklenburg, Powhatan, and
Prince Edward, shall constitute the third circuit.
Fourth. The city of Danville and the counties of Frank-
lin, Halifax, Henry, Patrick, and Pittsylvania, shall con-
stitute the fourth circuit.
Fifth. The counties of Amherst, Appomattox, Campbell.
Nelson, and the city of Lynchburg, shall constitute the
fifth circuit.
Sixth. The counties of Albemarle, Culpeper, Goochland,
Fluvanna, Madison, Orange, and Greene, shall constitute
the sixth circuit.
Seventh. The county of Henrico and the city of Rich-
mond, shall constitute the seventh circuit.
Eighth. The counties of Accomac, Northampton, York,
Elizabeth City, Warwick, James City, New Kent, Charles
City and the city of Williamsburg, shall constitute the
eighth circuit.
Ninth. The counties of Essex, King William, King and
Queen, Northumberland, Lancaster, Gloucester, Mathews
and Middlesex, shall constitute the ninth circuit.
Tenth. The counties of Caroline, Hanover, King George,
Louisa, Richmond, Spotsylvania, Stafford, Westmoreland
and the city of Fredericksburg, shall constitute the tenth
circuit.
Eleventh. The counties of Alexandria, Fairfax, Fau-
quier, Loudoun, Prince William, Rappahannock and the
city of Alexandria, shall constitute the eleventh circuit.
Twelfth. The counties of Clarke, Warren, Frederick,
Shenandoah and Page, shall constitute the twelfth cir-
cuit.
Thirteenth. The counties of Augusta, Rockbridge, Rock-
ingham, Bath, Highland and Alleghany, shall constitute
the thirteenth circuit.
Fourteenth. The counties ef Botetourt, Roanoke, Craig,
Montgomery and Floyd, shall constitute the fourteenth
circuit.
Fifteenth. The counties of Wythe, Pulaski, Giles, Car-
roll, ‘Bland and Tazewell, shall constitute the fifteenth
circuit.
Sixteenth. The counties of Washington, Smyth, Gray-
son and Russell, shall constitute the sixteenth circuit.
Seventeenth. The counties of Scott, Lee, Wise, Dicken-
son and Buchanan, shal! constitute the seventeenth circuit.
HKighteenth. The county of Bedford and the city of Roa-
noke, shall constitute the eighteenth circuit.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage, and all
acts and parts of acts inconsistent with the same are
hereby repealed.
