Chap. 391.—An ACT to authorize Tomlin Braxton to erect a
what on his property, on Pamunkey river, in King William
county.
Approved February 25, 1802.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia,
That Tomlin Braxton be, and he is hereby, authorized and
permitted to erect a wharf on his property lying on Pa-
munkey river, in King William county, and into said
river, for the purpose of landing, shipping, and storing
produce or other commodities, and for landing and ship-
ping passengers to and from the same for himself and
others; said wharf to be erected on any part of the water-
front of the lands of said Braxton that he may elect. Said
Tomlin Braxton, his heirs, and assigns shall have the
right to renew, repair, or enlarge such wharf, and to charge
and collect such compensation for the use of such wharf
as may have been agreed upon by and between the parties,
or as 18 usual: provided, that this wharf shall not obstruct
navigation; and provided, also, that this act shall at all
times be under the control of the general assembly, and
be amended or repealed, s may be deemed proper.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
