Chap. 348.—An ACT for the relief of Charlotte A. Ledbetter, the
widow of a Confederate soldier.
Approved February 25, 1802.
Whereas J. W. Ledbetter, the husband of the said Char.
otte A. Ledbetter, was a brave and true soldier of the army
yf the late Southern Confederacy; and whereas he con-
racted a deadly disease while a prisoner of war, and died
hereof thirty-five days after his release, namely, June fif.-
eenth, eighteen hundred and sixty-five; and whereas hie
widow, the said Charlotte A. Ledbetter, is now living in the
most abject poverty; and whereas, under the existing pen-
sion laws, the said Charlotte A. Ledbetter is not entitled
fo a pension; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia,
That the auditor of public accounts be, and he is hereby,
directed to list the claims of the said Charlotte A. Led-
better for a pension of thirty dollars per year.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
