CHAP. 249.—An ACT to authorize the Mutual annuity company
and the Inter-States life association to consolidate and form a
single joint stock company.
Approved February 16, 1892.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia,
That the mutual annuity company, a corporation duly
chartered by order of the judge of the circuit court of
Augusta county, entered June thirteenth, eighteen hun-
dred and eighty-nine, and by order of the judge of the
circuit court of Augusta county amending said charter,
entered July thirteenth, eighteen hundred and ninety,
and the Inter-States life association, a corporation duly
chartered by order of the judge of the circuit court of
Augusta county, entered December twenty-sixth, eighteen
hundred and eighty-five, be, and they are hereby, author-
ized to unite, consolidate and form a single corporation
under the name of the Mutual annuity company, upon
such terms and conditions as the stockholders of each of
said corporations either have heretofore or may hereafter
agree upon, which corporation, as so consolidated, shall
be authorized to exercise all of the powers granted to the
Mutual annuity company, and the Inter-States life asso-
ciation by the charters and amendments herein above re-
cited, and shall be bound by, and perform and discharge
all of the obligations resting upon either of said corpor-
ations, and all taxes and dues from said company, to the
state of Virginia, shall be paid in lawful money of the
United States, and not in coupons.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
