CHAP. 201.—An ACT to re-enact section 9, of an act entitled an
act to amend and re-enact an act entitled an act to incorporate
the town of Bridgewater, approved March 3, 1884,

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia,
That section nine of an act entitled an act to amend and
re-enact an act entitled an act to incorporate the town of
Bridgewater, approved March third, eighteen hundred and
eighty-four, be amended and re-enacted so as to read as
follows:
§ 9. The jurisdiction of the corporate authorities of
said town shall extend one mile beyond the limits thereof
for imposing and collecting a license tax upon all shows,
performances, and exhibitions which may take place any
where within said extended boundaries; and they shall
also have the power of imposing a license tax upon bowl-
ing, billiard, and bagatelle saloons, or on any similar game
or play recognized and taxed by the laws of the state, any-
where within the said extended boundaries, and all money
received for license tax, and also for all fines accruing
from a violation of the ordinances of the said town, and
that may result from the prosecution of any misdemeanors
covered by said ordinances within and for one mile beyond
the corporate limits thereof, shall be paid into the treasury
of the said town and be appropriated to the expenses of
the corporation as the council may direct.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
Chap. 202—An ACT defining a lawful fence for Washington
county, Virginia.
Approved February 12, 1892.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia,
That for and within the county of Washington, a fence
made of three planks, poles, wires, or other rails, the bot-
tom one of which is not to be more than two feet nor less
than fifteen inches from the ground, the top one not more
than five feet nor less than four and one-half feet from
the ground, and the middle one midway between the other
two, shall be deemed a lawful fence: provided that this
act shall not be so construed as to render a lawful
fence under the general law unlawful, nor so as to inter-
fere with the powers of the board of supervisors under
section two thousand and forty-eight of the code of Vir-
ginia, or any act amendatory thereof.
2 This act shall be in force from and after the first day
of July, eighteen hundred and ninety-two.
