CHAP. 197.—An ACT for the relief of John Q. Adams, of Nelson
county.
Approved February 12, 1892,
Whereas John Q. Adams was convicted at the October
term, eighteen hundred and ninety, of Nelson county
court of an assault, and fined fifty dollars and costs, and
sentenced to fifteen days’ imprisonment in jail, which 1m-
prisonment he has served, but the fine, together with the
costs attending the prosecution, is still unpaid;
And whereas said Adams is a very poor man, with a
large family to support, and every member of the jury
which convicted him has united in a petition asking that
the said cost of prosecution be released; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia,
That John Q. Adams be, and he is hereby, released and
discharged from the payment of the aforesaid fine upon
condition that he discharge all the cost of said prosecu-
tion.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
