CHAP. 143.—An ACT allowing the councils of the city of Nor-
folk to still further increase the salary of the judge of the cor-
poration court of said city.
Approved February 2, 1892.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia,
That the councils of the city of Norfolk shall have, in
addition to the authority given them by section one hun-
dred and eighty-six of chapter fourteen of the code of
Virginia, to increase the salary of the judge of the cor-
poration court of Norfolk one thousand dollars per an-
num, to be paid out of the treasury of said city, the right
to still further increase the salary of said judge one
thousand dollars per annum, to be paid out of the treas-
ury of said city, making the increased salary which the said
councils are allowed to pay the said judge two thousand
dollars per annum in addition to the two thousand dollars
per annum otherwise allowed by law: provided that the
increase of salary allowed under this act shall cease and
determine at the expiration of the present term of office
of the judge of said corporation court, to-wit: January
first, eighteen hundred and ninety-five.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
