Chap. 75. An ACT for the relief of Charles W. Walker, late
treasurer of Giles county, and his sureties.
Approved February 17, 1890.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia,
That chapter fifty-nine of the acts of the general assembly,
eighteen hundred and eighty-seven-eight, entitled an
act for the relief of Charles W. Walker, late treasurer of
Giles county, and his sureties, be amended and re-enacted
so as to read as follows:
§1. Be it it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia,
That the auditor of public accounts be, and he is hereby,
authorized and directed to receive from Charles E. Puck.
Lorenzo D. Hale, William P. Shumate, Jacob F. Sebold,
William L. Surface and Lewis Albert, survivors of them-
selves, and William H. Hall, deceased, dureties of Charles
W. Walker, late treasurer of Giles county, Virginia, or any
of them, bonds that may be issued under the act approved
February fourteenth, eighteen hundred and eighty-two,
entitled an act to declare Virginia’s equitable share of the
public debt, et cetera, at their par value, with all unpaid
matured coupons attached, to the amount of any balance
due by the said Charles W. Walker, late treasurer of Giles
county, to the state of Virginia, for which they are liable;
provided, that said bonds shall be paid to the treasurer
of the state of Virginia within two years from the third
day of February, eighteen hundred and ninety.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
