CHAP. 209.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section 1281 of the
code of Virginia, touching the verification and publication of
reports of insurance companies.
Approved March 4, 1890.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia,
That section twelve hundred and eighty-one of the code
of Virginia be amended and re-enacted so as to read as
follows: ,
§1281. How verified and published.—The report shall
be verified by the oaths of the president and secretary, or
two other officers of the company or association, and be
published by the auditor at the expense of the association,
once a week for six successive weeks, in some newspaper
published in the city or county where the principal office,
in this state, of the company is located.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
HAP. 210.—An ACT for the relief of Daniel L. Rogers, a maimed
Confederate soldier of the county of Pittsylvania.

Whereas it is represented to the general assembly of
‘irginia, that Daniel L. Rogers, of the county of Pittsyl-
ania, enlisted in the service of the Confederate States
uring the late war in a Tennessee regiment, and while
erving in said regiment in Virginia lost an arm; and
vyhereas since the said war he has been a resident and
itizen of Virginia, but debarred from receiving the com-
nutation money paid by the state to citizens of the state
sho were such during said war and so maimed; and
shereas it is right and just that he should receive the
ame commutation money that is paid to other citizens
of the state who were so disabled during the said war;
therefore, <
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia,
That the auditor of public accounts be, and he is hereby,
directed to enter the name of the said Daniel L. Rogers
on the list of persons entitled to annual payment of thirty
dollars, as prescribed by chapter three hundred and ninety-
eight of the acts of eighteen hundred and eighty-seven
and eighteen hundred and eighty-eight, approved March
fifth, eighteen hundred and eighty-eight, or by any similar
act that may be passed, and pay to him the same commu-
tation money that is paid to other soldiers so maimed
coming under the provision of that act or acts.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
