CHAP. 176.—An ACT forthe relief of Mrs. Kate E. Muse, of
Gloucester county.
Approved March 4, 1890.
Whereas Mrs. Kate E. Gregg, now Mrs. Kate E. Muse,
paid the sum of forty dollars and thirty-seven cents to the
treasurer of Gloucester county, for delinquent taxes, sup-
posed to be due on a parcel of Jand in Gloucester county,
and after paying the same she discovered that the same
tax had been paid to the auditor of public accounts; there-
fore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia,
That the auditor of public accounts is directed to draw
his warrant on the state treasurer in favorof Mrs. Kate
E. Muse, of Gloucester county, for the sum of forty dollars
and thirty-seven cents, this being the amount paid by
Mrs. Kate E. Muse, erroneously to John E. Bland, treasur-
er of Gloucester county.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
CuHaPp. 177.—An ACT for the relief of Thomas W. Ingram, of
Mathews county, Virginia.

Whereas Thomas W. Ingram, of Mathews county, Vir-
ginia, an ex-Confederate soldier belonging to Mathews
artillery, has been paralyzed in both legs for more than
eighteen years, which affliction was brought on directly
from sickness, exposure and privation while in the Con-
federate service, and he is now perfectly helpless, and is
ntitled to a pension under the various conditions required

sembly eighteen hundred and eighty-seven, eighty-eight,
iz: as to being a citizen of Virginia, was a soldier
rom Virginia, does not hold any national, state or county
fice which pays a salary or fees over three hundred dol-
ars per annum, has not an income from any other source
rhich amounts to three hundred dollars, does not own in
lis own right, or does his wife own property of assessed
alue of more than one thousand, does not receive a pen-
jon from any state or from the United States, and is not
in inmate of any soldiers’ home; now, therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia,
That the auditor of public accounts be authorized to draw
his warrant on the treasurer for thirty dollars in favor of
Thomas W. Ingram, to be paid out of any moneys not
otherwise appropriated; this being a pension up to the
first of April, eighteen hundred and ninety, and the
auditor of public accounts is directed to place the name
of Thomas W. Ingram on the list of those who are entitled
to receive pensions, and shall pay the said Thomas W.
Ingram, annually, after the first day of April, eighteen
hundred and ninety, the sum of thirty dollars on his
compliance with the provisions of section eight of chap-
ter three hundred and ninety-eight, of acts of assembly
eighteen hundred and eighty-seven, eighty-eight, entitled
an act to give aid to soldiers, sailors, and marines of Vir-
ginia, maimed or disabled. in the war between the states,
and to the widows of Virginia soldiers, sailors, and marines
who lost their lives in said war in the military service.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
