Chap. 149.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section 904 of chap-
ter 39 of the code of Virginia, in relation to growing crops.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia,
That section nine hundred and four of chapter thirty-
nine of the code of Virginia be, and is hereby, amended
and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
§904. No growing crop of any kind (not severed) shal]
be liable to distress or levy, except Indian corn, which
may be taken at any time after the fifteenth day of Octo-
ber in any year; and also, except sweet potatoes and Irish
potatoes, over five barrels of each variety, may be dis-
trained or levied upon for rent after the same have been
matured sufficiently to sever or to market.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
