Chap. 130.—An ACT to provide for the sale of delinquent lands
in the county of Nottoway for the years 1884—-85-86-87.
Approved February 28, 1890.
Whereas, it being represented to the general assembly
that the treasurer of Nottoway county failed to give notice
in accordance with law of the sales of land returned de-
linquent in said county for taxes and county levies assessed
thereon, for the years eighteen hundred and eighty-four,
eighteen hundred and eighty-five, eighteen hundred and
eighty-six, and eighteen hundred and eighty-seven, and
that in consequence thereof no sales of such lands for
such taxes and county levies have been made; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia,
That the treasurer of said county shall, on or before the
first day of May, eighteen hundred and ninety, cause to
be prepared and posted notices of such sales in manner
and form required by section six hundred and thirty-seven
of the code of eighteen hundred and eighty-seven, and
shall in all other respects conform his action to the law
now in force for the sale of delinquent land, except that
such sales shall be advertised in said notices, to commence
on the first day of the November term of the county court
of said county, for the year eighteen hundred and ninety,
and shall be made in pursuance of the said notice, and
shall in all other respects conform to the requirements of
the provisions of chapter twenty-eight of the code of eigh-
teen hundred and eighty-seven.
2. Any person aggrieved by any entry made on the list
of delinquents shall be entitled to relief as prescribed by
section seven of chapter five hundred and forty-eight of
the acts of eighteen hundred and eighty-three and eigh-
teen hundred and eighty-four as amended by section one
of chapter eighty-seven of the acts of eighteen hundred
and eighty-five and eighteen hundred and eighty-six, ex-
cept that the application for relief shall be made on or
before the first day of August, eighteen hundred and
ninety, and relief shall be given such applicant in the
mode and under the circumstances prescribed by such
section as so amended.
3. This act shall be in force from its passage.
