CHaP. 113.—An ACT for the relief of the sureties of John C
Gray, late treasurer of Washington county.
Approved February 25, 1890.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia
That the auditor of public accounts of the state of Vir.
ginia is hereby authorized and directed to accept from W.M
Gray, S. J. McChesney, J. S. King, T. G. McChesney, James
F. Hanby, R. E. Gray, J. S. Gray, J. Frank Gray, L. M
McChesney, J. J. Giesler, William L. McChesney, anc
Abram Brown, sureties of John C. Gray, late treasurer o:
Washington county, or either of them, or the persona.
representatives of such of them as may have died, the
bonds of the state, with all unpaid unmatured coupons
attached, issued under act approved February the four
teenth, eighteen hundred and eighty-two, entitled an ac
to ascertain and declare Virginia’s equitable share of the
public debt, and so forth, at their face value, to the
amount of the balance now due by, the said Gray
late treasurer, on account of revenue, and so forth, col
lected and unaccounted for, computing interest on sucl
balance at six per centum per annum: provided, that the
said bonds shall be paid to said auditor within si)
months from the passage of this act; and provided, fur
ther, that this act shall not apply to the said John C. Gray
late treasurer aforesaid.
2. This act shal] be in force from its passage.
CHAP. 114—An ACT to exempt from taxation the property o
the Mary Washington monument association of Fredericksburg
ginia.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia
That the property now owned by the Mary Washingtor
monument association of Fredericksburg, Virginia, and
all property hereafter acquired, be, and the same is hereby.
exempted from taxation.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
