CHAP. 80.—An ACT to authorize the Norfolk and Western rail-
road company to build a branch road across the southern
branch of the Elizabeth river below the mouth of the Dismal
Swamp canal.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia,
That the Norfolk and Western railroad company be, and it
is hereby, authorized to build a branch road from any
point on its line in Norfolk county across the southern
branch of the Elizabeth river below the mouth of the
Dismal Swamp canal; and where such branch road shal!
cross the southern branch of the Elizabeth river it shall
be provided with a suitable draw-bridge for the passage of
any steam boats or vessels.

2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
