CHAP. 592.—An ACT defining a lawful fence for Chesterfiell
county.
Approved March 4, 1890.
1. Be it enacted by the genera] assembly of Virgins.
That for and within the county of Chesterfield a fent:
four and one-half feet high, made of three rails, planks,
poles or wires, the bottom one of which is to be two feet
from the ground, the middle one to be three feet from the
ground, and the top one to be four and a-half feet from
the ground, shall be deemed a lawful fence: provided,
that this act shall not apply to the district at present
exempted from the operation of the law of enclosures, and
described by metes and bounds as the land commencing
on James river, at the termination of H. T. Drewry’s line;
thence along said line to the Richmond and Petersburg
railroad; thence along said railroad to Gilliam’s line, at
the Conjurer’s Neck road; thence along said Gilliam’s
line to the road known as the Richmond and Petersburg
turnpike, and terminating at Campbell’s bridge across
the Appomattox river; and the land exempted since that
time, and described as follows: Commencing at Chester
and running up the Clover Hill railroad to Brander’s
bridge road; thence down said Brander’s bridge road to
Swift creek ; down said creek tothe Richmond and Peters-
burg turnpike.
2. This act shall be in force on and after the first day of
April, eighteen hundred and ninety.
