Chap. 586.—An ACT to authorize the town of Cape Charles, in
Northampton county, to borrow money.
Approved March 4, 1890.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia,
That the town of Cape Charles, in Northampton county,
is hereby authorized to borrow five thousand dollars, pay-
able in fifteen years, and issue bonds for same; to aid in
the erection of the courthouse for said county, in said
town, provided it is decided to move the courthouse to
said town.
2. The bonds shall be issued and sold at such times,
under such conditions and restrictions, of such denomi-
nations, bear such rates of interest not exceeding six per
centum per annum, be identified by the signature or sig-
natures of such officials, and in all other respects con-
form to such provisions as the council of the said town,
before the issuing of said bonds, by ordinance may pre-
scribe, but the said bonds shall not be sold by the said
town at less than their par value, and the proceeds of sale
shall be applied to no other purpose than hereinbefore
indicated.
3. This act shall be in force from its passage.
