CHAP. 534.—An ACT to amend section 7 of chapter 316 of the
acts of assembly for session 1874-75, entitled an act to ineorpo-
rate the town of Falls Church, in the county of Fairfax.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia.
That section seven of chapter three hundred and sixteen
of acts of assembly for the session of eighteen hundred
and seventy-four and eighteen hundred and seventy-five.
be amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
§7. The council may annually levy a tax for roads, and
other corporation purposes, which tax for all purposes, in-
cluding schools, on no property shall exceed sixty cents on
a hundred dollars, except that, on a petition of two-thirdé
of the freeholders within the corporation, the council may
levy a corporation tax not to exceed the amount named 1
said petition.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
HAP. 535.—An ACT to authorize the New River investment
compan to subscribe for, guarantee, or acquire the stock and
bonds of any corporation.
Approved March 4, 1890.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virgimia.
That the New River investment company be, and hereby i:.
authorized and empowered to subscribe for, guarantee, or
acquire the stock and bonds of any corporation of this
state or elsewhere.
2. All taxes due or to become due the commonwealth by
this company shall be paid in lawful money of the United
States and not in coupons.
3. This act shall be in force from its passage.
