CHAP. 455.—An ACT to authorize the councils of Norfolk to issue
bonds for the erection of a market-house.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia,
That it shall be lawful for the councils of the city of Nor-
folk, and they are hereby authorized and empowered to
issue bonds in the name and on behalf of said city to an
amount not to exceed seventy-five thousand dollars in
face value, in addition to the amount now authorized by
law, for the purpose of erecting a market-house in said
city. Said bonds shall not be sold at less than par, and
shall bear interest at a rate not to exceed five per centum
per annum.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
