CHAP. 454.—An ACT to amend and re-enact chapter 134 of the
acts of assembly for the session of 1878 and 1879, entitled an act
for the protection of game in Alexandria and Fairfax counties.
Approved March 3, 1890.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Vitginia,
That chapter one hundred and thirty-four of the acts of
assembly for the session of eighteen hundred and seventy-
eight and eighteen hundred and seventy-nine, entitled
an act for the better protection of game in Alexandria
and Fairfax counties, be amended and re-enacted so ag to
read as follows:
§1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia,
That in the counties of Alexandria and Fairfax it shal]
not be lawful to kill or capture hares or rabbits from
January first to October first of each year.
§2. Any person violating any of the provisions of sec-
tion one of this act shall be fined the sum of ten dollars,
and in default of the payment thereof shall be committed
to jail for not less than two nor more than five days, and
he can he arrested with or without a warrant by any citi-
zen of the commonwealth and carried before a magistrate
for trial.
$3. All acts and parts of acts inconsistent with this act
are herehy repealed.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
