CHAP. 366.—An ACT to facilitate the passage of fish in Black-
water river, in the county of Franklin.
Approved February 25, 1890.
Whereas it is represented to the general assembly that
the dam across Staunton river at the point of its junction
with Blackwater river, in the county of Pittsylvania,
obstructs and cuts off the passage of fish up Blackwater
river; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia,
That the owner of said dam be required, within one month
from the passage of this act, to remove it from said river.
2. Failure of the owner of said dam to carry out the
provisions of this act shall, on motion before the county
court of Pittsylvania, and satisfactory proof of said failure,
be fined not less than one dollar per day for every day
said dam is permitted to remain.
3. This act shall be in force from its passage.
