Chap. 343.—An ACT to allow William H Barnes and John A.
Barnes to erect a pier or wharf on James river.
Approved February 24, 1890.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia,
That William H. Barnes and John A. Barnes, of the
county of James City, be authorized to erect a pier or
wharf near the mouth of Powhatan creek, on James river,
for the purpose of shipping lumber and produce to and
from the same for themselves and others, and may charge
for the same such sum as the county court of James City
may allow: provided, the said pier or wharf shall not
obstruct navigation on the said river.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
