CHAP. 295.—An ACT to authorize the school board of Catalpa dis-
trict, Cul peper county, to issue bonds for building school houses
and | Provid ing for payment of same.
Approved February 18, 1890,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia,
That the school board of Catalpa school and magisterial dis-
trict of Culpeper, be authorized to issue bonds to an amount
not exceeding eight thousand dollars, to run not exceeding
ten years, and bearing interest not exceeding six percentum
per annum, for the purpose of erecting good, suitable, sub-
stantial brick buildings to be used for school purposes in
the education of the white children of said district of school
going age (five to twenty-one years of age), and of buying
lots on which to build same.
2. That said board of said district be authorized to soll
the buildings and lots in the town of Culpeper, now used
for public school educational purposes, and to invest the
proceeds thereof in the manner indicated in the first sec-
tion of this act.
3. The board of supervisors of Culpeper county are au-
thorized and empowered to levy a tax not exceeding ten
cents on the one hundred dollars of assessable property of
said district as a special fund to be appropriated annually
to the payment of interest on said bonds and the extin-
guishment of the principal until the whole shall be paid.
4, This act shall he in force from its passage.
