CHAP. 227.—An ACT to extend the time for the collection of tax
tickets in the hands of James Haislip and others, late deputy
treasurers of Fairfax county.
Approved February 17, 1890.
Whereas, James Haislip, late deputy treasurer of Fair-
fax county, has in his hands various uncollected tickets
for taxes and levies, state and county; and whereas, George
A. Gordon, late deputy treasurer of Fairfax county, has in
his hands various such tickets; and whereas, William M.
Garrett, late deputy treasurer of Fairfax county, has in
his hands various such tickets, none of which have been
returned delinquent; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia,
That authority is hereby given the said late deputy trea-
surers, and each of them, to collect the amounts due on
the said tickets, and all of them, and to that end the said
late deputy treasurers shall have the power of levy and
distress given county treasurers by existing laws, and such
laws amendatory thereof as may hereafter be enacted :
provided, that such power shall continue not longer than
one year from the date of the passage of this act: and
provided, further, that none of such tickets which might
have been collected prior to March fourth, eighteen hun-
dred and eighty-three, shall be collected under authority
of this act.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
