CHAP. 223.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section 5 of an act
entitl-d ‘‘An act to incorporate the Virginia State insurance
company,’’ so as to provide for a president, vice-president, and
board of directors fur said company.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia,
That section -five of an act entitled “ An act to incorporate
the Virginia State insurance company,” passed December
fourteenth, eighteen hundred and sixty-five, be amended
and re-enacted so as to read as follows, viz:
85. The persons named in the first section shal] be com-
missioners to receive subscriptions to the capital stock of
the company, any two of whom may act. The affairs of
the company shall be under the control of a board of direc-
tors, consisting of not less than nine nor more than fifteen
persons, one of whom shall be chosen president and another
vice-president of the company, and any five shall form a
quorum for the transaction of any business. Any vacancy
occurring in the board of officers at any time shal! be filled
by the board, and the present board shall have the power
to enlarge its number to the limit prescribed by this act.

2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
