CHaP. 211.—An ACT relating to unlawful fishing in the tribu
taries of the Potomac river within the jurisdiction of Stafford
King George, Fairfax, and Alexandria counties.
Approved February 17, 1890.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia
That it shall be unlawful to fish with a purse-net or pound.
net in any of the tributaries of the Potomac river, withir
the jurisdiction of Stafford, King George, Fairfax, anc
Alexandria counties between the first day of June and the
first dav of September in any year, or to fish in any of saic
waters with a purse-net, pound-net or other fixed device o:
anv kind, between sunset on Saturday of any week anc
sunrise on Monday of the ensuing week; but during that
time the bag, purse, or head of any pound-net or othe:
fixed device shall be taken up so that fish may freely pas:
without obstruction.
2. The license required by section two thousand anc
eighty-six of the code of Virginia, eighteen hundred and
eighty-seven, shall not be construed to apply to fishing in
said tributaries.
3. All acts or parts of acts inconsistent herewith are
hereby repealed.
4. This act shall be in force from its passage.
