CHAP. 206.—An ACT to enable the Chesapeake and Ohio railway
company to acquire, or acquire an interest in, extensions or
‘additions to its system of railroad outside this state, and to
create stock and deeds of trust or mortgages, or to guarantee
bonds for that purpose.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia,
That for the purpose of extending the system of railroads
owned or operated by it, the Chesapeake and Ohio rail-
way company be, and it hereby is, authorized to acquire,
or acquire an interest in, railroads outside this state form-
ing extensions or additions to said system, as now or here-
after existing, by purchase, consolidation, merger, lease,
stock ownership, or otherwise, and to create deeds of trust
or mortgages on any property or interest so acquired, or
guarantee the mortgage bonds of any railroad so acquired ;
also to create and issue such additional amounts of stock
as the company may deem expedient for the purpose of
such acquisition.
2. This act shall he in force from its passage.
