CHAP. 163.—An ACT to amend and re-enact an act entitled an
act to incorporate the truitees of Emory and Henry college, in
the county of Washington.
Approved February 4, 1890.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia,
That article four of an act entitled an act to incorporate
the trustees of Emory and Henry college, in the county
of Washington, approved March twenty-fifth, eighteen
hundred and thirty-nine, be so amended and re-enacted
so as to read as follows:
§4. The board of trustees shall consist of twenty-seven
members, and shall be constituted as follows: The board
of trustees as‘at present existing being thirteen in num-
ber, shall remain intact, to which shall be added the presi-
dent of the college (ex-officio) and thirteen other members,
to be appointed by the Holston annual conference of the
Methodist Episcopal church, south, in whatever way said
conference may deem best.
2. And be it further enacted, that articles six and
eight of said act be, and the same are hereby, repealed
and made void.
3. This act shall be in force from its passage.
