CHAP. 10.—An ACT enlarging the powers of the Richmond and
Henrico turnpike and graded road company in constructing a
branch road.
Approved December 19, 1888.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia,
That in addition to the powers conferred on the Richmond
and Henrico railroad, turnpike and graded road company
incorporated by and under the act of assembly approved
March, eighteen hundred and seventy-one, entitled “An
act to incorporate the Richmond and Henrico railroad,
turnpike and graded road company,” that the said com-
pany shall have authority to construct, from a point on
their road, in the county of Henrico, not distant farther
than one mile from the northwestern limits of the city of
Richmond to the northern termination of the street
known as Lombardy street, extended, in the city of Rich-
mond, a turnpike road not less than sixty feet in width,
and to construct over Bacon Quarter branch, in the said
county of Henrico, such bridge or bridges as may be
necessary for the said road under this act, said road to be
held by said company under their said charter and all
amendments thereto; provided that the assent of the citv
council of the city of Richmond and of the county court
of Henrico be first obtained thereto; and provided further,
that the road authorized to be constructed under this act
shall not pass over any county road or public thorough-
fare, and that the tolls on the said road so constructed
shall be the same as those now allowed by law onthe prin-
cipal road of the said company known as the Brook
turnpike.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
