Chap. 77.—An ACT to incorporate the Arcola and Aldie Telephone
company.
° Approved April 28, 1887.
1. Be it enacted by the gencral assembly of Virginia, That
A. H. Lee, Frederick Ilutchison, W. L. Palmer, C. W. Rice,
C.J. C. Moftitt, Edgar Little, Hl. M. Smith, and A shhy ILoltz-
claw, and any such others as may be associated with them and
their successors, be and are hereby constituted a body politic
and corporate under the name of Areola and Aldie telephone
company. and as such may sue and be sued, may have, make,
and use a common seal, and the same to alter or change at
pleasure, and may make such by-laws or regulations for the
government of said company as they may think wise, not in
conflict with the laws of this State or of the United States.
2. The said corporation shall have authority to acquire,
erect, and maintain telephone lines and offices in the counties
of Loudoun and Fairtax, and to connect with other telephone
lines in said counties or in adjoining counties, and may erect
and maintain its lines along the public highways, but not to
obstruct the same.
3. The eapital stock of said company shall not be less than
two bundred nor more than five thousand dollars, to be
divided into shares of ten dollars each.
4. The officers of said company shall be a president, secre-
tary, and: treasurer, to ‘be elected annually by the board of
directors, and a board of directors of not less than five to be
clected hy the stockholders in general meeting, and said
stock holders shall make suitable by-laws for the government
of said directors.
5. The lability and responsibility of the stockholders of
said company shall be only to the extent of the stock held
and paid tor by them, and for no more and no greater extent.
6. And the said company shall pay all taxes and dues to
the commonwealth in lawful money of the United States and
not in coupons.
7. This act shall be in force from its passage.
