Chap. 417.—An ACT for the relief of the sureties of A. F. Creel.
Approved May 23, 1887.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the auditor of public accounts is hereby authorized and di-
rected to accept from George H. Creel, R. A. Thompson, and
W. H. Jeffries, sureties of A. F. Creel, late collector of Mar-
shall township, in Fauquier county, or any of them, in the
bonds of the State, with all unpaid coupons attached, issued
under the act approved February fourteenth, eighteen hun-
dred and eighty-two, entitled an act to ascertain and declare
Virginia’s equitable share of tho debt, and so forth, to the
amount of the balance now due by them, computing the in-
terest thereon at the rate of six per centum by the default of
the said A. F. Creel: provided the said bonds shall be paid to
the treasurer within one year after the passage of this act.
Nothing herein contained shall be construed as releasing said
Creel from his liability for the difference between the amount
due by him and the market value of the bonds so reccived.
2. This act shall be in force from its passaye.
