Chap. 389.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section 25 of chapter 11,
sub-division of chapter 311 of the Acts of 1877-8, approved March
14, 1878, in reference to crimes and punishments.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
section twenty-five of chapter eleven, sub-division of chapter
three hundred and eleven of the Acts of eighteen hundred
and seventy-seven and seventy-eight, be amended and re-en-
acted so as to read as follows:
§ 25. Such councils, boards of supervisors, or judge shall
establish rules and regulations for the care, safe-keeping, and
government of such persons while so employed; but the
commonwealth shall not be chargeable with any increase of
expense that may arise from their being so employed above
the ordinary charges for keeping such persons in jail.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
