Chap. 37.—An ACT to authorize the auditor of public accounts to
ercdit James M. Binford, treasurer of the city of Portsmouth, with
school warrant No, 1548, dated November 29, [882, which w as paid
by him.
Approved April 1, 1887.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
upon the production of evidence, satisfactory to the auditor
of public accounts, that school warrant number thirteen hun-
dred and forty-eight. for three thousand and cighty-seven
dollars and thirty-eight cents, dated November twenty-ninth,
eighteen hundred and cighty-two, for the city of Portsmouth,
has been lost, and that the amount of said warrant has been
paid in full by the treasurer of said city, upon orders of the
proper school authorities of said city, the said auditor is
hereby authorized to credit said treasurer with the same
from the date it was issued: provided that the said auditor
shall take trom the said treasurer a bond of indemnity, with
proper security, for four thousand dollars, to save the com-
monwealth harmless.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
