Chap. 339.—An ACT to authorize the revisors of the Code to prepar
an index of their work, and to supervise the printing of the same
and to provide compensation to them for such work.
Approved May 21, 1887.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
Waller R. Staples, E. C. Burks, and John W. Reily, the revis
ors of the Code, be and they are hereby authorized to pre
pare a suitable index, according to the most approved me
thods, of their work of revision, and to supervise the print
ing of the Code and index, and to employ a clerk to aid them
therein.
2. To provide compensation for the duties above described.
the sum of five thousand five hundred dollars is hereby ap.
propriated, to be paid upon the completion of the wor!
ereby authorized to be done, as follows, viz: to said Walict
R. Staples, E. C. Burks, and John W. Reily, each the sum @
fifteen hundred dollars, and to their clerk the sum of one
thousand dollars.
3. The said amounts shall be paid upon the warrant of the
governor after the completion of the work hereby authorized,
and shall be in full, together with amounts heretofore appro-
priated, of all compensation to be made for the revision and
index, and superintendence of printing.
4. This act shall be in force from its passage.
