Chap. 290.—An ACT to allow John S. Burhans to erect a wharf on
the Rappabannock river at Brandon, in Middlesex county.
Approved May 18, 1887.
1. Bo it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
Jobn S. Burhans be authorized to erect a pier or wharf on
the Rappabannock river, at Brandon, in the county of Mid-
dlesex, for the purpose of shipping oysters and other things,
to and from the same. And the said John 8. Burhans and
his assigns shall bave the right to charge such compensation
for the use of said picr or wharf as may be agreed upon by
and between the parties, or as are usual: provided that the
said pier or wharf shall not interfere with navigation: and
provided also, that this act shall at all times be under the
control of the general assembly, and be amended or repealed
as may be deemed proper.
2. ‘This act shall be in force from its passage.
