Chap. 289.—An ACT to amend and re-enact an act approved March 1,
1886, entitled an act to incorporate the Lynchburg Young Men’s
Christian Association.
Approved May 18, 1887.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
Thomas J. Kirkpatrick, John P. Pettyjohn, Doctor H. C.
Latham, William Kinnier, W. B. Freeman, C. A. Licklider,
J. B. Johnson, L. L. Armistead, C. Winfree, J. L. Thompson,
J.T. Yates, BE. C. Glass, and W. A. Hefferman, be and are
hereby constituted a body corporate, under the style of the
Lynchburg Young Men’s Christian Association, and as such
may have a common seal, sue and be sued, and hold property
derived by gift, devise, or purchase, whether real or personal,
in value not to exceed one hundred thousand dollars, and may
exchange or mortgage the same.
2. The officers of suid association, duly elected, shall man-
age said corporation, and an election to office in said associa-
tion shall constitute such officer a member of said body cor-
porate, and only such officers shall have the right to vote or act
in the management of said body. Said officers shall have the
right to make all proper rules and regulations for the man-
agement of said association and the prosecution of its work.
3. This act shall be in force from its passaye.
