Chap. 276.—An ACT authorizing the re-registration of voters at Farr-
ham precinct, Richmond county, Virginia.
Approved May 18, 1887.
Whereas the village of Farnham church, Richmond county,
has becn destroyed by fire, causing the loss of the registra-
tion books of the precinct, located in said .village; and
whereas said destruction of said registration books will dis-
franchise said voters at said precinct, unless some immediate
action is taken by the legislature; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the registrar at Farnham precinct, Richmond county, Vir-
ginia, be and is hereby ordered to sit from May the twen-
tieth, eighteen hundred and eighty-seven, for five days, for
the purpose of registering the voters at said precinct, and
that the general law shall not apply to the registration under
this act.
2. The registrar shall give notice of said registration im-
mediately after the passage of this act, and that the board of
supervisors of Richmond county are hereby empowered to
pay said registrar the sum of one dollar and fifty cents per
day for each day so engaged, and that all persons registered
under this act shall have the privilege of voting at the elec-
tion to be beld on the twenty-sixth day of May, eighteen
hundred and eighty-seven, and all succeeding elections.
3. This act shall be in force from its passage.
