Chap. 269.—An ACT to stay proceedings for the enforcement of a judg-
ment of the State against the sureties of James P. Critz, late treas-
urer of Patrick county.
Approved May 16, 1887.
Whereas a judgment was recovered the twenty-third day
f February, eighteen hundred and eighty-seven, in the cir-
uit court of the city of Richmond, in favor of the common-
vealth against J. P. Critz, late treasurer of Patrick county,
or the sum of five thousand and sixty dollars and sixty cents,
mount due the commonwealth as treasurer aforesaid; and
whereas the said James P. Critz has executed a deed of trust
onveying all of his property in trust to save harmless his
ecurities as treasurer aforesaid, and said securities are anx-
ous and desirous that said property may be sold and the pro-
eeds of sale applied to the payment of the debt aforesaid;
ind whereas it is impossible to ascertain the value of the
yroperty conveyed as aforesaid, or the credit the judgment
foresaid will receive from said property, or the amount which
be securities of the said James P. Critz, late treasurer of
Patrick, will have to pay upon said judgment until said prop-
rty shall have been sold; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the gencral assembly of Virginia, That
10 steps be taken to enforce said judgment against the official
ecurities of the said James P. Critz, late treasurer of Patrick
‘county, until the first day of July, eighteen hundred and
ighty-eight. But nothing herein contained shall be con-
strued us in any way to effect or impair the lien of said judg-
ment against the property of said securities.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
