ered by the Kendall bank note company of New York against the
board of commissioners of the sinking fund of Virginia.
Approved May 14, 1887.
Whereas the Kendall bank note company of New York, on

four, recovered a judgment against the board of commission-
ers of the sinking fund of Virginia, on account of the re-
cision of the contract awarded the said company for the
engraving and printing of the bonds and coupons required
under the provisions of the Riddleberger bill, which said
judgment was for the sum of thirty thousand dollars, with
legal interest thereon and the costs of suit; and whereas the
supreme court of appeals of Virginia bas affirmed said judg-
ment, so that there is a liability on the State of Virginia for
the payment of said judgment; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the gencral assembly of Virginia, That
the auditor of public accounts be and he is hereby authorized
and directed to draw his warrant upon the treasurer of the
commonwealth of Virginia in favor of the Kendall bank note
company of New York, for the sum of thirty-eight thousand
and sixty-one dollars and sixty cents, payable out of any
money in the treasury of the State not otherwise appro-
priated by law, said sum being the amount now due upon
said judgment, exclusive of costs in the courts.
