Chap. 225.—An ACT for the relief of J. B. Dorteh.

Whereas it is represented that J. B. Dortch, of the county
of Halifax, being of the belief, and so informed by the com-
missioner of the revenue, under a mistake of law, that he
could sell wines of his own manutacture at retail, did so sell
domestic wines, and was prosecuted therefor and fined fifty
dollars by the county court of [Lalifix county, and it appear-
Ing that under the circumstances it would be harsh to enforce
the collection of said fine; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the veneral assembly of Virginia, That
the said J. B. Dortch, of' the county of Halifax, be and he ia
hereby relieved from the payment of a fine of tho sum of
fifty dollars imposed on him at the February term, eighteen
hundred and eighty-seven, of the county court of Halifax
county, for the period of twelve months.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
