Chap. 211.—An act to provide for the cancellation of certain bonds of
the commonwealth now held by the board of public works.
Approved May 14, 1887.
1. Be it enacted by the gencral assembly of Virginia, That
the board of public works be and the said board is hereby
required to turn over to the commissioners of the sinking
fund all bonds of the commonwealth, with coupons attached,
and all certificates of indebtedness of the commonwealth now
held by said board, received since act approved March nine-
teenth, eighteen hundred and eighty-four, in settlement of
the indebtedness to the commonwealth from the Richmond
and Danville railroad company. It is made the duty of the
said commissioners forthwith on tho receipt of said bonds
and certificates, to enter in the record of their proceed-
ings a correct list of said bonds, and the said commissioners
shall thereupon cancel or cause to be cancelled in their pres-
ence, such bonds, coupons, and certificates, and safely file
away the same with the other valuable papers under their
control; and the said commissioners shall furnish the second
auditor a true list of said bonds, coupons, and certificates so
cancelled. :
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
