Chap. 19.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section & of an act ap-
proved February 12th, 1886, entitled an act to amend and re-enact
an act approved Mare Hh 10th, ISS84, entitled an act to amend an act
to incorporate the Ly nehburg, Halifax and North Carolina railroad
company.

1. Be it enacted by tho general assembly of Virginia, That
the eighth section of an act entitled an act to amend and re-
enact an act approved March tenth, cighteen hundred and
eighty-four, entiticd an act to amend an act approved Jan-
uary oighteenth, eighteen hundred and cishty-four, entitled
an act to incorporate the Lynchburg, Halifax and North
Carolina railroad company, be and her eby is amended and re-
enacted so as to read as follows:
§ 8. The board of directors shall report their proceedings
during their term of office to this mecting of stockholders ;
and said stockholders, at said meeting, shall elect a president,
vice-president, and ten directors, who shall thereafter consti-
tute the board of directors of said company, and sball hold
office for such term as may be prescribed by the by-laws ot
said company: provided the said term shall not exceed three
years, and shall bave the powers and duties of such officers
and boards as are prescribed by the general laws of this State
and the terms of this act. And it appearing that the presi-
dent and vice-president and board of directors of said com-
pany have already been elected for a term of three years
from the first meeting of stockholders held under this section,
it is hereby declared: that such clection shall be valid and
legal.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
