Chap. 161.—An ACT to authorize the board of supervisors of the
county of Henrico, Virginia, to convey to the United States the
right of way for a certain road.
Approved May 6, 1887.
Whereas by the second section of the act of congress of
the United States, approved the twenty-eighth day of Feb.
ruary, eighteen hundred and eighty-seven, appropriating the
sum of twenty-five thousand dollars for the construction of
a gravel road from the city of Richmond to tho National
cemetery, on the Williamsburg road, about one and a half
miles east of the city of Richmond, it is provided that before
any money shall be expended as aforesaid, the title to the
right of way shall be granted to the United States free of
cost; and whereas the board of supervisors of the county of
Henrico, in order to comply with the conditions imposed by
the said act of congress, has taken steps to have the right of
way for the said road condemned according to law, and to
pay the compensation that may be allowed to the land-
owners for the said right of way for the said road; there-
fore,
1. Bo it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
as soon as the proceedings taken by the said board of super-
visors of the county of Henrico to condemn the right of way
for the said road shall be completed, the said board of super-
visors is hereby authorized and empowered to convey the
said right of way to the United States, by a good and suffi-
cient deed, and without cost to the United States.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
