Chap. 498.—An ACT to relieve the sureties of A. F. Creel.
Approved March 5, 1888.
Whereas in the year eighteen hundred and seventy-four, a
judgment was obtained in the county court of Fauquier
county, against A. F. Creel, a collector, and his sureties; and
whereas it is just and proper that the payment of the bal-
ance of interest due on said judgment shall not be exacted
and demanded from the said sureties; now therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the sureties of A. F. Creel, their representatives and heirs,
are hereby relieved from the payment of the balance of said
judgment now remaining unpaid.
2. The auditor of public accounts is authorized and di-
rected to have the said judgment marked satisfied so far as
the said sureties, their representatives and heirs are con-
cerned: provided, that nothing herein contained shall be con-
strued to release the said principal or his estate from liability.
3. This act shall be in force from its passage.
