Chap. 484.—An ACT for the relief of William M. Dooley, of Camp-
bell county.
Approved March 5, 1888.
Whereas, William M. Dooley, while deputy treasurer for
John W. Clay, late treasurer of Campbell county, in the years
eighteen hundred and eighty-four and eighteen hundred and
eighty-five, became mentally affected, and by reason thereof
failed to make proper return of delinquents on the tax tick-
ets in his hands for collection, and there are now in the hands
of Joshua Dooley, G. M. Dooley, and Jerome Hunter, securi-
ties on his bonds, a large number of tax tickets for said years,
which could not be collected, but which said William M.
Dooley failed to return ag delinquent or insolvent, for all of
which tax tickets his said securities have accounted to John
W. Clay, treasurer; therefore,
1, Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
Joshua Dooley, G. M. Dooley, and Jerome A. Hunter, securi-
ties of said William M. Dooley, deputy treasurer, may, within
six months from the passage of this act, lay before the board
of supervisors of Campbell county a return of delinquent and
insolvent taxes, for the years cighteen hundred and eighty-
four and eighteen hundred and eighty-five, that were in the
hands of the said William M. Dooley for collection, and when
said lists have been certified by the board of supervisors and
the county court according to law, that the auditor of public
accounts be and he is hereby authorized and directed to draw
his warrant pon the treasurer of the state for the amount of

state taxes so certified as insolvent and delinquent, in favor of
said Joshua Dooley, G. M. Dooley, and Jerome A. Hunter,
sureties of said William M. Dooley.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
