Chap. 481.—An ACT authorizing the board of supervisors of Norfolk
county, in their discretion, to pay over to the city collector of Nor-
folk city, for the use of Brambleton ward, in said city, a portion of
the taxes collected from citizens of said ward by the treasurer of
Norfolk county for the year 1887.

Whereas by an act of the general assembly of Virginia,
passed on the sixth day of April, eighteen hundred and eighty-
seven, to take effect on the first day of July, eighteen hun-
dred and eighty-seven, the territory now embraced within
the boundaries of Brambleton ward, in the city of Norfolk,
was a part of Norfolk county, and was by the said act incor-
orated within the limits of the city of Norfolk; and whereas
fy the terms of said act the taxes levied upon the property
of the citizens of said ward for the whole year eighteen hun-
dred and eighty-seven were to be collected by the treasurer
of Norfolk county, notwithstanding said ward was a part of
Norfolk city for the last half of said year; and whereas said
Brambleton ward has received no benefit whatever from the
taxes levied and collected upon property therein for the last
halt of the pat eighteen hundred and eighty-seven; therefore,
fers :
1. Beit enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the board of supervisors of Norfolk county be and they are
hereby authorized and empowered, in their discretion, to pay
over to the city collector of Norfolk city, for the use of Bram-
bleton ward, in said city, a portion of the taxes collected by
the treasurer of Norfolk county from the citizens of said ward
for the year eighteen hundred and eighty-seven.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
